Hina

No MP3 file available
This is my first attempt at trying to get my kinda overdrive sound. It's inspired by Torben Kristensen and his way of getting an overdriven/distorted sound without using the Overdrive/Distortion effects. Oh the CTL pedal switches on/off the delay in this patch. Specifically used for the song "Hina" as played by Steve Vai on the David Lee Roth album Skyscraper .

Ethnic Synth

This one I stumbled onto when I was trying to get a Dick Dale kinda sound of all things. Anyway you can press and hold the "CTL" pedal when you hear the guitar synth kick in then play over the top of it. I have no idea what you could use it for yet but who cares, that's what creativity is for right ?.

Sitar

This is a modified patch from the GT-5 text patch link at http://members.aol.com/bossgt5/ I have adjusted it for the GT-3 and it sounds pretty good now. There was a bad distortion and feedback problem that I fixed by reducing the PREAMP master volume and the Digital Delay feedback time from 100 to 98. Hope someone finds a use for it. : )

Bluesy

No MP3 file available
This patch is one I made up to play bluesy Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan type sounds. When I wrote it I was playing along with the SRV track "Lenny" from the Live at the El Mocambo video. I also was playing along to a couple of other SRV songs, sometimes it was hard to pick which guitar I was hearing, then when I heard the sloppy playing I knew that was me and not SRV. If you press the CTL switch you get that vibrato sound that is almost exactly like an old amps vibrato.

Blues-Vibe

This patch is pretty much the same as the Bluesy patch, apart from the phaser and the EQ section. It sounds odd to me but close to that sound that was around in the late 60's and early 70's.

Always Joe

No MP3 file available
This patch was made exclusively as a mimic of the Joe Satriani lead tone on the song "Always with me, Always with you" from the album Surfing with the Alien. Joe uses a, how should I put it, molded tone on this lead sound. It sounds quite strange when you use it by itself but as a lead tone it works out pretty well. Atleast that's true from playing along with the track or a midi version of it.

Wicked Clean

No MP3 file available
This patch is one I made up to play the bluesy clean tone with the song "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. Use the neck pickup with a light touch and you should get pretty close to the sound of the guitar on that track. There is a fair amount of reverb on this patch so keep that in mind. It's ok as a basic blues tone too, but it's more for light touch use I think with the reverb.

Octave Drive

No MP3 file available
This patch is a overdrive sound with a Octave pedal type effect. The octave is one octave down. It has some trouble tracking on more than one note but it tracks perfectly on single notes, no matter how fast you play them !.

Ballerina

No MP3 file available
This patch I found somewhere and fiddled with a little. It's a mimic of the Eventide harmoniser effects unit patch that Steve Vai used on the song Ballerina 12/24 song from the album Passion and Warfare. It's not exactly the same but it's kinda fun playing with it.

Air Raid

No MP3 file available
This patch is a patch I made just for fun. If you hold your strings and just let the GT-3 do it's work you can hear a really cool air raid siren sound. Remember to keep the volume down though when you first try this one. It may feedback through a guitar amp.

Cat in a bag

No MP3 file available
This patch is a patch I modified from somewhere I dont remember. It used to be called, "Pinball" but now it's called "Cat in a bag". To be honest this patch is just an excuse to just get all the red lights going at one time. Gotta love the red lights !.

Punk This !

Like it says it's just a patch for that Blink 182/Green day sound or anything else that uses a overdriven Marshall Mesa Boogie sound.

This is a patch I've modified from the Bluesy patch. It has setting that use the expression pedal mod.

Just to help out those learning it. ; )

IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!!

These patches were written and are used exclusively through a hifi system. Please be careful when trying out through a guitar amp. ALWAYS try new patches for the first time at LOW volume !. I learnt the hard way and nearly blew my ear drums on a patch that had so much feedback I was lucky I didn't blow up my speakers.

I hope you enjoy the above patches as much as I do. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions I'd love to hear from you. You can email through this address gallery23@iname.com.
